Powerhire were recently contacted by a regular customer of many years for the provision of temporary generator power for a large NHS South London University Hospital, and as always, we were more than happy to oblige.

This large NHS trust Hospital was opened in 1885 and has grown ever since with its most recent development being the Jubilee Wing opening in 2004. It is a District General Hospital with almost 700 beds as well as operating a 24-hour accident and emergency department. Within their programme of planned maintenance one of the hospital’s permanent standby generators was due to undergo a refurbishment. And as Powerhire had supplied a temporary generator solution for the Hospital on previous occasions they were once again lined up to support the works for the current generator upgrade.

Again, due to Powerhires site knowledge it was not necessary to go to site to advise on the best solution for the Hospital’s temporary backup power. We recommended one of our containerised super silent 1000kVA temporary generators that would be set up and connected to the Hospital’s main power supply, ready on standby should it be called into action if a power outage occurred.

We were contacted by our customer at 3pm and arrived at the desired location at the Hospital with our containerized 1000kVA temporary generator together with the necessary cabling for connection by 6pm. Another satisfied temporary generator customer for the four week hire period was once again achieved.
