2 x 100kVA Rental Generators for Christmas Market
Rochester Christmas Market is now in its 5th year and for the last several years Powerhire have been its provider of choice for rental generators. With a sound knowledge of the event’s festivities, its power requirements and the close proximity of our rental depot to the venue we were once again a natural choice and it was fantastic to be asked by the Events team to provide the rental power for this year’s event.
The Christmas Market is held in the stunning setting of Rochester’s fairy tale Castle gardens overlooked by the 12th Century Norman Keep. And during the first weekend in December the Dickensian Christmas festivities spill out onto the historic High Street as Rochester becomes a feast of Victorian delights with a lamp-lit grand parade, roaming street performers and an open air carol concert.
The market is truly spectacular giving Rochester a real feeling of Christmas spirit, enticing its visitors into the magical atmosphere. Entry is free and it attracts between 60,000 to 100,000 visitors over three weekends with an additional 60,000 visitors joining in the festive fun during the Dickensian Christmas weekend.
It is packed with stalls offering luxury and unique gift ideas, value goodies and stocking fillers; as well as a range of tasty Christmas treats. This year it host’s a Bavarian Village and Craft Fair as well as live music providing much merriment! It’s a perfect FREE day out for all the family where an eclectic mix of independent retailers and entertainment, festive food and drink and period architecture can be enjoyed.
In September our Technical Sales Manager liaised with his usual contact on the Event’s team to assess 2016’s rental generator requirement. It was concluded that it would be extremely similar as the previous year. Powerhire engineers delivered the complete power rental package to site in late November for the commencement of the market, consisting of 2 x 100kVA rental generators, 2 x 2,000Ltrs fuel tanks, distribution panels and a portable fuel bowser together with the required rental cable for connection.
Our installation team liaised with the organisers for the precise pre-arranged positioning of the rental generators and associated equipment, ensuring everything was set up correctly for the four week rental period before leaving site.
