Customer: The Saville Group operating brand Sparq. A leader in technical event production operating globally. The Saville Audio Visual brand has been redefining the audiovisual industry for over 50 years.
Site: The London Irish Centre, Camden, London
Technical event production specialist Sparq, an operating brand of The Saville Group, who provide a tailor-made experience for global brands were called upon to be the event production partner to support The London Irish Centre team with the production of an exclusive, intimate fundraising evening with musical megastar Ed Sheeran plus special guests!
Powerhire were contacted by the project director of Sparq with regards to the hire of temporary generator power to support their equipment being utilised for this amazing event. The customer knew the exact size generators that were required and requested 2 off 200kVA Silenced Rental Generator SYNC sets, both running together in sync, so if one fails the other will seamlessly continue to provide power, and 1 off 3000 Litre Bulk Fuel Tank.
The customer had also requested attendance by our engineer to ‘babysit’ the generator throughout the performance to ensure that in the event of any issues he was on hand to rectify them immediately ensuring there was no interruption to the show.
Following agreement of the equipment by both parties, our sales manager communicated the project needs with our Powerhire Operations Team to ensure that all the required equipment was reserved, serviced and booked out accordingly.
During the hire all equipment, including the engineer’s vehicle throughout the performance, was to be located in the roadway with parking permits, council and police permissions taken care of by the customer prior to installation.
On the agreed delivery date, our logistics team loaded our Hiab lorry at our Dover depot, delivered and offloaded the required equipment at the site in Camden as instructed.

Once offloaded and positioned, our Powerhire commissioning engineer attended site to set up and connect the generators and bulk fuel tank which was followed by testing and demonstration of the generator to the customer.
As arranged our commissioning engineer stayed on site throughout the performance, which ran seamlessly thanks to being expertly managed by the Sparq team.
Following a fabulous evening and a late night our commissioning engineer was back on site the following morning to disconnect the generators and bulk tank and make ready for collection by our logistics team.
The evening was a huge success with Sparq providing an amazing memorable experience for all the guests with lots of money raised for the local charity.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Sparq and this event and we look forward to working with them again in the near future.
