100kVA Generator Hire for Christmas Market
For the 5th year running we return to Royal Kingston town centre for the provision of generator hire for their stunning Christmas Market that engulfs the entire town in the lead up to Christmas.
Kingston is steeped in history and is the perfect place for a truly traditional festive feeling; this year sees a bid to turn it into the largest town centre Christmas event in the UK! The whole town centre is transformed into a magical Christmas market, spreading throughout the Ancient Market Place and the surrounding pedestianised streets.
Generator hire is required to support this colossal extravaganza, where alpine wooden chalets feature throughout the streets selling their unique giftware, food and drink as well as showing a multitude of entertainment. A vast marquee is erected on the church green complete with wooden flooring, heating and lighting and hosts their flagship Christmas craft fair. Two large outdoor bar areas are serving up steaming mugs of mulled wine along with classic German-style street food and entertainment. A podium has also been erected for musicians and various singers and all of this outdoor entertainment can be enjoyed in the comfort of a seating area with outdoor heaters.
As with every year our client who organises the event contacted Powerhire four weeks before the start of the Christmas fair with a similar generator hire requirement as previous years. Our generator hire co-ordinator programmed the relevant equipment into our servicing and rental schedule and during the second week in November our installation team delivered it to site in the early hours of the morning before any services and structures had been installed or erected.
Our engineers positioned the 100kVA super silent generator together with a distribution panel, fuel tank and the necessary cabling for connection into the allocated locations as previously agreed with our client, ready for the Christmas market to be built up around it to encapsulate Kingston in glittering festive merriment and cheer.
In previous years this spectacular event has welcomed 500,000 visitors each week during the peak Christmas trading period and with the increased capacity this year the anticipation is for a rise in footfall as well as atmosphere and entertainment!
