Event Generator Hire for the greatest celebration of vintage lifestyle and military history in the World.
For the second year running the creative production company that organises one of the biggest revival festivals in the UK, contacted PowerHire for event generator hire for the end of July.
The production company, with over 20 years of experience and a worldwide presence, arranged a meeting with his usual contact at Powerhire, our Technical Event’s Manager, to ascertain the exact power requirements for the entire festival. The meeting was scheduled in April to allow for our Rental Co-ordinator to schedule the event generator hire into the calendar as early as possible, due to the increased demand in our rental power packages throughout the summer months. Also with the festival moving to a bigger, new location for 2017, it was imperative that the equipment, engineers and logistical solutions were locked down as early as possible.
Kent has been the home of the War & Peace Revival for more than 30 years and it is was with great pleasure that the organisers announced the show’s long term presence would remain in Kent! Returning to The Hop Farm Showground, Paddock Wood until 2020. It was packed full of education and entertainment throughout the entire duration of the event. It held the largest military vehicle gathering in the world, as well putting on live re-enactments from historical military scenes from around the world.
There were over 500 trade stalls and marquees giving shoppers the opportunity to browse through untold military memorabilia, and for the modellers; extensive displays of top class models as well as the opportunity to see the full-sized versions!
As well as all the activities, displays and entertainment around the showground there was plenty of opportunity to take advantage of some down time with over 6 catering areas serving good quality food and drink. But for those wanting a little more chaos the fun fair was definitely the place to be!
For a little more glamour and elegance, The Vintage Village, a dedicated area for all things vintage, offered more of a peace element to the festival. The Victory Marquee was the centre of entertainment in the village, really coming to life in the evening with dancing, a gala dinner, entertainment and a variety of scintillating and toe tapping live music from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s.
Those that really wanted to immerse themselves in the festivities were able to completely soak up the atmosphere across all five days by taking full advantage of the camping facilities on site.
Due to the immense size of the festival, and the quantity of architecture requiring power, the event generator hire was scheduled for delivery a week before the start of the event to enable the rest of the set up to be constructed around the rental power.
The Powerhire logistics team and engineers left the rental depot in Kent with 10 fully serviced event spec generator’s ranging from 40 to 200kVA, and their associated fuel tanks. Once onsite our engineers spent the day off loading and placing the equipment in the pre designated areas before departing.
After five brilliant action packed days it was time to say goodbye for another year. With great feedback from the visitors and organisers, and our customer being very pleased with the event generators, everyone was happy!
Dates published for 2018 are 24 July 2018 to 28 July 2018. We’ll see you there!
