When Powerhire were contacted to provide emergency power in London at the premises of one of the world’s leading financial newspapers our Engineering Team were happy to attend site at the weekend to accommodate this urgent provision of back-up power.
This newspaper keeps over 1.8 million global business leaders, government ministers, bankers, investors and many more in over 140 countries up to date with the latest global news and economy throughout the day and any interruption in power is completely unacceptable which necessitates back-up generator power as compulsory for a business of this magnitude.
The site’s back-up generator had been scheduled for an upgrade, but due to unexpected circumstances a temporary solution became unavoidable and emergency power was required to bridge the gap. As soon as the call came into our 24hr Help Desk our Technical Sales Manager was contacted and attended site to assess the building’s power load in order to specify to most suitable temporary back-up generator required to provide the emergency power.
Our Technical Sales Manager specified one of Powerhire’s super silent enclosed 1000kVA generators to act as the site’s temporary back-up generator power. This would function in the exact same way as their current system had previously performed and be called into action should there be any loss of mains power. This would also enable the installation of the new permanent backup generator system at the site.
Powerhire’s Installation Engineers arrived at this magnificent building on the Southern Bank of the River Thames the weekend of the emergency power call-out. The generator was installed and connected into the onsite mains power with the necessary cabling. The emergency power was set up with an automatic mains failure [AMF] panel to enable the site’s power distribution to communicate with the temporary generator. This would enable the temporary generator to start-up immediately in the event of a mains power outage to avoid any loss in the building’s power and thus business activities.
Once installed, our Engineer commissioned the generator to ensure its optimum operating efficiency as well as a satisfactory automatic start-up under the scrutiny of the client before leaving site.
