With the inclusion of more industrial machinery at of one of their plants along the Thames Estuary a major Aggregates Company’s Plant Manger rang his contact at Powerhire for emergency generator hire.

With a total of 34 locations across London, the East Coast and South East of England this is one of the largest independent Aggregate Companies in the UK and with continued investment in operations the growth of one of their established marine aggregate processing facilities was inevitable.

However with the addition of further industrial conveyor belts and associated machinery the site power simply wasn’t sufficient and emergency generator hire was unavoidable until additional mains power could be installed.

Having worked alongside this Company for the last ten years, Powerhire were only too happy to facilitate the emergency generator hire. The Plant Manager contacted us as soon as he was aware of the power shortage as a delivery boat was scheduled for arrival at their site.  Powerhire’s Technical Sales Manager, their usual Powerhire contact, was able to recommend the most appropriate sized emergency generator hire sets once he was informed of the equipment it was required to power.

At 8am the following morning the Powerhire logistics team delivered a 1000kVA generator set to site as a matter of urgency and the next day, once back into the yard and the relevant servicing was completed, a 40kVA generator and 100kVA set went to site.  The following month additional machinery was required at the plant and Powerhire were once again called into action and delivered at 500kVA set to site.

The larger two generator sets were used to power conveyor belts running from the terminal jetty to the processing plant and the smaller two sets were required to run the associated ancillary equipment.

Understanding the client’s power requirements over the previous years was a massive advantage in providing emergency generator hire to a very satisfied customer.  The generator sets will be serviced and maintained by our service department until the site’s mains power has been made sufficient.
