PROJECT: LOADBANK TESTING OF 4 x 1500kVA GENERATORS

Powerhire were contacted by a regular customer to carry out loadbank testing of 4 x 1500kVA permanent Generators at one of their premises in the heart of the City of London.

The generators are tested to prove their functionality in the event of a mains power outage to the building. The building occupies successful recognised business brands which meant that any downtime had to be kept to a minimum which in turn determined that this test was carried out over a weekend. Generator no. 1 and no. 2 were tested successfully on day 1 followed by Generator no. 3 and no. 4 on day 2 with our engineers applying an initial load of 25% with an increase of 25% steps over a 15 minute period with each generator running at 100% load for a period of 4 hours.

After a successful weekend, the generators were cleaned, permits were signed off and the customer was left happy.
