When a long term client called asking us to provide power for an event we’ve done many times before, we of course said yes.
The client, are award-winning creative technical event production experts with 30 years in the business. They offer a complete creative technical production service for all types of events, from design and visualisation, motion graphics and content creation to lighting, set design and build and full project management production.
The venue was the prestigious Royal Ascot unlike any other and revered the world over. It is one of Britain’s most well-known racecourses and a major event in the British social calendar. The Royal Ascot is the centrepiece of Ascot’s year dating back to 1711 when it was founded by Queen Anne and has become just as famed in recent years for the wonderful outfits that are worn as well as the horse racing.
The client knew exactly what their power generation requirements were and therefore Powerhire provided them with 2 x 300kVA and 2 x 500kVa synch generators with 240mm cables and 4 x 3000 litre fuel tanks with fuel.
As with each new temporary power project, all generators were cleaned and serviced by our team of dedicated service engineers and on the specified day delivered from our Dover depot along with the necessary rental ancillary products by our own fleet of lorries.
It was an amazing week at Ascot, as usual, welcoming around 300,000 visitors over five days, all dressed up in their finest clothes and hats.
Our Director had the honour of attending this special event on day two and dressed in her finery hunted down the generators and had her picture taken – never off duty!
