During the service of their standby Generator at one of the Metropolitan Police buildings a fault was discovered with the busbar arrangement rendering it unable to function due to a fault within the building infrastructure.
Due to the critical nature of Police Operations it was imperative that a temporary generator was installed as a matter of urgency until the necessary works could be completed to enable their current standby generator to function when called into action.
Powerhire were contacted immediately having had vast experience of working with the Metropolitan Police and understanding the processes and procedures when operational within their highly sensitive and secure environment.
With the majority of Powerhire Engineers already having the necessary high level security clearance for working within Metropolitan Police buildings, it ensured the temporary power was installed without any interruption which was vital.
The Facilities Manager requested a 1500KVA temporary generator but with previous knowledge of this specific building Powerhire’s Engineers knew this wasn’t viable due to the space restriction. Our Engineer recommended the best solution was to synch together 3 x 500kVA rental generators.
On instruction of the project from the Facilities Manager the temporary generators were loaded onto the Powerhire lorry and arrived onsite in London within hours. Due to the limited space the 3 x 500kVA temporary generators were unloaded approximately 100m from the entrance and carefully skated into position within the desired location. The generators were installed and commissioned by our dedicated team of Installation Engineers who worked tirelessly into the night for a swift completion as required by the client.
