Temporary Power Projects for 2019

POWERHIRE PROVIDE TEMPORARY POWER FOR ELECTRIFYING EVENTS & POWERFUL PROJECTS IN 2019

Powerhire continue to be involved in some incredible projects and events year on year which is all thanks to our awesome Powerhire team and to our wonderful customers, old and new!

We may not have had the scorching summer of 2018 but in 2019 we’ve had the privilege of working again with some of our long term customers and the pleasure of working with new ones.

With an increase in the volume of generator hire projects throughout this year we found it necessary to expand our logistical fleet with the introduction of an additional Mercedes Benz Arocs Rigid Lorry with truck loader crane and new trailer for greater flexibility and more efficient delivery for our customers.

Party Power!

The event season went off with a bang with Powerhire continuing to supply temporary equipment for some fantastic events for new and existing customers.

We’ve had a busy summer schedule making sure our equipment was delivered around the UK fully serviced, cleaned and appropriately packaged for the intended customer. Full credit to our Powerhire team for making this happen on time, every time! In 2019 so far we have provided over 200 event generators ranging from 20kVA to 500kVA along with a range of fuel tanks and ancillary products.

This year we have had the great pleasure of working with a long standing customer and our great friends, Innovation Power. We have supplied power for some incredible events once again including the multi-genre music festival Wilderness, in its 8th year set amongst the rich forests, lakes and parklands of the beautiful Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire; the colourful immersive spectacular Spanish festival that is Elrow Town, back for their 3rd year and their biggest ever event hosting circa., 25,000 music fans at its new venue of Trent Park, London; Community Festival back for its third year and the ultimate hip-hop & R&B summer festival Wireless incredibly in its 14th year, both taking place on consecutive weekends at the historic Finsbury Park; The DnB heaven Hospitality in the Park bringing together all things drum & bass in one place; Abode in the Park the all-day electronic music festival hosting one of the greatest DJ talents in house music, our very own Nic Fanciulli , with both of these incredible days taking place over one weekend at the iconic Finsbury Park, London. Some new ones for us this year, and for London was the Naked City Festival successfully blending genres such as jazz, house, afro, dub and disco and Black Deer Festival, the award-winning Americana and country music festival returning for its second year in beautiful county of Kent.

We were lucky enough to be asked to provide power once again in 2019 for the following events:-

• Paddle Round the Pier the world’s biggest beach and water sport charity festival in Brighton.
• The War & Peace Revival, the greatest celebration of military history and vintage lifestyle in the world at Kent’s iconic and historic landmark The Hop Farm.
• The legend that is Cropredy, Fairport Convention’s sell out folk and rock music festival in the village of Cropredy that’s been running for over 3 decades.
• Broadstairs Food festival set in the picturesque Kent town of Broadstairs with three days of yummy food and drinks.
• Broadstairs Folk Week, the traditional folk music and dance festival with a whole week of folk music by the sea.
• The International Horse Trials set on the North Downs in the beautiful Kentish village of Chilham against the beautiful backdrop of Chilham Castle hosting a charity dog show and classic car rally.
• Margate Soul Festival based around Margate Old Town, Margate Harbour and Margate Winter Gardens.
• The oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, The Wimbledon Championships. Powerhire supplied generators for the qualifiers at Roehampton and the finals at the famous Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis Club. 2019 was a record breaking year for the Championships with digital consumption of the fortnight on BBC platforms hitting a record-breaking 28M people, The Gentlemen’s Singles Final was the longest ever at four hours 57 minutes and attendance was the second-highest in Wimbledon history with 500,397 guests.

Over the last three years we have continued to build a valuable relationship with a local Kent based family run marquee hire company specialising in wedding and corporate marquee hire, party tents, modern and traditional marquees, luxury toilets and much more in and around Kent and the South East. So far in 2019 we have provided circa. 25 event generators along with our LED lighting towers to support them in their quest to ensure that their customers’ event is perfect.

Power to the People!

Alongside all these amazing events, we’ve have also provided temporary power in the form of generators, loadbanks, distribution and lighting towers for many noteworthy projects including:-

• the supply of 12 off 500kVA sync standby generators along with 6 off 3000L bulk fuel tanks, 2 off 4MVA transformers and 2 lighting towers for a critical Switchgear upgrade at one of London’s best loved tourist attractions; read the full project news story here
• 4 off 500kVA temporary generators along with a 20,000 litre bulk fuel tank were dispatched to the world’s largest independent energy corporation who required temporary generator power to power up one of their UK sites whilst being decommissioned prior to closing down; read the full project news story here
• 6 off generator sets ranging from 100kVA to 800kVA to help a plant hire solutions company power up their machinery for the resurfacing of one of the South East’s airport runways;
• an award winning London based Production Company’s called up to request temporary power to back up a large camera for a music video they were shooting at Castle Farm in Sevenoaks for an American owned record label which we gladly remedied with 45kVA generator;
• the hire of temporary generator power to support an intimate VIP fundraising gig in Camden, London hosted by Dermot O’Leary and singing legend Ed Sheeran! • if one VIP wasn’t enough, Powerhire recently supplied back up power to support a historic Royal ship naming ceremony in Dover Western Docks. The Duchess of Cornwall was on hand to christen a new British cruise ship ‘Spirit of Discovery’ built exclusively for the British market and the first cruise ship to be name at the docks for over 10 years; read the full project news story here

• long term provision of a HV Transformer and 2 off 2.5MVA loadbanks for worldwide ICT Solutions Provider based in the Docklands for works being carried out by our sister company The Generator Company, on the extension of the property’s existing 4 off 2500kVA 11kV generator installation.

The Season to Sparkle

Halloween Horrors, Firework Festivities and Christmas Celebrations……………….with autumn fast approaching we are busy preparing our fleet for the winter season.

We look forward to working again with an award-winning creative technical event production team supplying temporary power packages for their ‘Dickensian’ themed corporate Christmas parties at Finsbury Square, London where guests will dine on a festive feast by candlelight, roaring fires and a celebration of good times and their ‘Around the World’ themed corporate Christmas parties at Willows Farm, St. Albans, where guests will be taken from ancient Egypt via the souks of Marrakech and ornate temples of Japan, to the snowy hills of Kathmandu. Having worked with the production company on many occasions we already have our 300kVA and 500kVA generators booked out for these magical events.
