100kVA Festival Generator Hire
We were delighted to be approached for the provision of generator hire by the Charitable Trust that puts on Kent’s International Arts Festival each year. The Trust had already heard of us due to the fact that this Kent Festival venue is located between our Head Office and Rental Depot. We were also highly recommended by a regular generator hire client.
Kent’s International Arts Festival is one of the most cultural events in the South Each. As an independent charity, the Festival brings a rich mixture of performing arts locally and from around the world to surprise and delight audiences from all diversities and age groups.
The Festival inspires artists to create and perform. It champions emerging talent and supports those seeking careers in the cultural industries. It usually draws audiences of more than 60,000 people with 200 free and ticketed events in a range of venues from the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral to the Spiegeltent.
The Charitable Trust contacted one of our Technical Sales Managers for the provision of generator hire to support The Festival Spiegeltent, to be located in the Kingsmead car park in Canterbury. The Spiegeltent literally translates as a ‘Hall of Mirrors’, and these highly decorative, travelling dance halls, which have toured worldwide, provide a stunning environment for music and dance events.
The Trust already knew the power required to support the Spiegeltent venue for Kent’s International Arts Festival. They informed us that the set would be running 90 hours, 14-15 hours a day, during both weeks of the generator hire period. It was therefore a simple recommendation to supply one of our modern and fuel efficient 100kVA Bruno generators which our Rental Coordinator programmed into our generator hire schedule. And, because the generator would be running unlimited for the duration of the two week hire, we also advised the rental of an additional fuel tank.
We delivered, offloaded and located both the generator, fuel tank and the necessary cabling for connection as previously agreed with the client. Our engineers arrived early in the morning before the staging, tents and utilities were erected onsite. The generator hire was required to power the catering outlets, hospitality tents and the dance halls as well lighting and heating across the whole site.
As with previous years Kent’s International Arts Festival was a massive success with huge local and national support. Following the two week generator hire, our logistics team returned to site on the designated day to break down the generator set up and loaded the equipment back onto our hiab to return to the rental depot in Kent.
