Loadbank Tests at Biomedical Research Company

Project Overview:

Four Engineers carried out the regular yearly loadbank tests for the buildings back-up generator power. This was undertaken to check that the site’s back-up power would perform to the required standards should a mains power outage occur.

Our Engineers delivered and installed our 1100kw resistive loadbank and connected it to the site’s backup generator system with the relevant cabling in preparation for the required loadbank tests on each generator.

A two hour heat run was carried out on each individual generator to prove it could produce full power as well as on both generators synchronised together [each at 50%] to prove effective load sharing.

The loadbank tests proved successful and is a very effective way of compensating for the problems associated with running the generators off load or lightly loaded during the client’s monthly tests.
